Project Overview

“Patient’s Pathway” is a large-scale, site-specific mural designed for the underground hallway connecting all six buildings of the Kings County Hospital campus. This corridor serves as a vital passageway for patients, families, and staff. The project recognizes this space as a symbolic and functional artery of the hospital—one that can be transformed into a source of visual calm, inspiration, and hope.

The mural will honor the patient experience, particularly the emotional and physical transitions that occur during movement between buildings. Through abstract expressionism, dynamic movement, and bold color contrasts, the work will reflect resilience, healing, and forward momentum.

Artistic Approach

Fadi Joseph Khoury’s visual language is rooted in abstract expressionism, with a strong emphasis on movement, flow, and dramatic color relationships. The mural design will create a continuous visual narrative across the six building sections, encouraging a sense of unity and progression throughout the hospital campus.

The intention is not decorative, but integrative—positioning art as an essential part of the hospital environment and a contributor to emotional well-being, dignity, and human-centered care
