season 2025

On June 17-18, 2025 FJK Dance presented at New York Live Arts Theater, in New York City. An extraordinary celebration of art and humanity, showcasing Khoury’s visionary choreography that bridges cultural divides and challenges societal norms. This season highlighted three compelling works that exemplify Khoury’s commitment to peacebuilding and inclusivity.

World Premiere of TO HEART: Inspired by Rumi’s timeless poetry, this multimedia production explores the journey to love and connection through contemporary dance, live music, calligraphy, live painting, video projection, and animation. Featuring collaborations with Zafer Tawil and American percussionist Mal Stein, TO HEART intertwines heart, soul, and body, illuminating the beauty of Middle Eastern culture.

The Dying Swan Reimagined: A bold reinterpretation of the classic solo through an Arabic lens, performed by Fadi J. Khoury and accompanied by Palestinian musician Zafer Tawil on Oud. This piece challenges gender stereotypes and cultural expectations.

MOVE: A signature work blending contemporary ballet and ballroom movement with a Middle Eastern touch, enriched by Lebanese percussionist Gilbert Mansour’s dynamic rhythms.

FJK Dance is a proud Artist-in-Residence (volunteer) at Kings County Hospital (Brooklyn), in partnership with the Behavioral Health Services, Wellness and Recovery Division.

The FJK Dance message of unity, tolerance and cross-cultural dialogue began with the founding of FJK Dance in 2014. We support the hospital’s efforts in creating greater awareness and acceptance in our society for those with mental illness by sharing our creative process in site specific installations.
