This new project is currently in development through the CUNY Dance Initiative residency at On Stage at Kingsborough in Brooklyn. This event invites you to take a closer look and witness the creative process of FJK Dance; as well as introducing you to the collaborative team of Season 2022, in music, animation and costume design.
Mirage will be performed live with Melody Fader’s piano trio.
During the 2020 lockdown, Fadi returned to painting as a way to meditate, create, and process the isolation of the pandemic. The lines and curves he painted were compositions of movements, stories of his body reaching out, looking for connection. Manhattan art gallery Maison 10 invited Fadi to join their virtual project Happy House NYC. The project provided him with paint supplies and space, to both draw and dance, on a large scale. This experiment solidified his vision for a piece where painting, dancing and music happen live on stage, in collaboration with the artists of FJK Dance.
